This cotton Union Jack shirt is inspired by the flags and celebration of Victory England Day. Announcing the end of a long war against fascism, VE Day was one huge street party all over the country! It was a time to anticipate the safe return of surviving soldiers, and mothers and wives of the dead would celebrate in relief that their loved died for the winning cause - for the declaration of human rights. Flags were waved in the streets by children and the elderly and everyone in between.
